Employee Engagement

At Den Hartogh, our people are the cornerstone of our success.
In 2024, we remained committed to fostering an environment where employees feel valued, engaged, and supported. Through targeted initiatives, transparent communication, and opportunities for development, we continued to strengthen our workplace culture and align it with our core values of People Development, Openness, Respect, Caring, Initiative, and Fun in Business.
Welcoming new members
A significant highlight this year was the integration of 500 dedicated liquid food colleagues in Europe following the acquisition of H&S Group. This transition was more than just a business milestone; it was about welcoming new members into the Den Hartogh family. To ensure a smooth and inclusive integration, we launched several initiatives aimed at promoting connection, collaboration, and shared understanding. Interactive town halls, team-building sessions, and cross-functional workshops provided opportunities for dialogue, while regular updates kept everyone informed and engaged throughout the process.

The success of these initiatives reflects our belief that an engaged workforce is key to sustainable growth. By investing in our people, creating opportunities for personal and professional development, and nurturing a culture of trust and respect, we continue to build a workplace where everyone can reach their full potential.

Young Den Hartogh
This year, we welcomed the 10th generation of Young Den Hartogh (YDH)—an international team of selected young Den Hartogh professionals working on a year-long project identified by the Board of Directors. Since its launch in 2012, YDH has provided a platform for young talents to contribute to strategic projects and develop their skills. All countries can nominate young talents to participate in YDH. Members actively contribute to relevant projects that support both business goals and personal development. YDH10 will focus on standardizing and refreshing the onboarding programme, ensuring inclusivity for both office- and non-office-based staff. Their final proposal will be presented in the fall of 2025.

Women in Logistics
Strengthening our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Den Hartogh proudly joined the Women in Logistics Consortium, officially launched in June 2024. This industry-wide initiative brings together logistics providers and chemical manufacturers to drive gender parity and create a more inclusive sector. Our Liquid Logistics BU Director, Joep Aerts, represents Den Hartogh on the consortium board, alongside key industry stakeholders. With women making up less than 6% of drivers in Europe, Den Hartogh is taking an active role in co-chairing the Women Drivers pillar, working to identify and remove barriers for women entering the driving profession. By collaborating with a broad network of stakeholders, we aim to foster an environment where more women can build successful careers in logistics, contributing to a stronger, more diverse industry.
