In 2024, Den Hartogh continued to make significant strides in environmental sustainability, aligning with our broader 2025 and 2050 goals. Through innovative projects, targeted investments, and collaborative efforts, we reinforced our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and driving sustainable logistics solutions.

EcoVadis
As part of our commitment to sustainability, Den Hartogh undergoes an annual assessment by EcoVadis, a globally recognised sustainability rating platform. In response to growing customer expectations, we have continuously enhanced our sustainability performance. To further strengthen our position, we established a dedicated virtual team in 2024 to refine our submission, which was delivered to EcoVadis in November. Over the past year, our score increased from 55 to 75 points, placing Den Hartogh among the top 5% of all EcoVadis-rated companies—a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices.
Electric Truck Fleet Expansion
Four additional electric trucks were introduced, bringing the total to five, with three operating in Sweden. These trucks, powered by the country’s green energy grid, achieved up to a 100% CO₂ reduction compared to diesel. We have implemented a supplier in Thailand using an electric truck to move our empty repositioning tanks.

Green Logistics Initiatives

Green Corridors
Launched in collaboration with Dow Chemicals, the Green Corridor between the Benelux region, Türkiye, and Greece achieved an estimated 85% CO₂ reduction for road transport and 100% carbon neutrality during ocean passages.

Operation Clean Sweep Compliance
Maintained full compliance, supporting environmental responsibility in bulk handling operations.

Book & Claim Programme
Partnering with customers, our Book & Claim programme—a system that enables the purchase of sustainability certificates to offset emissions—saved over 60 tonnes of CO₂ within six months in Great Britain alone.
