At Den Hartogh, safety is more than a pillar—it is the foundation of everything we do. In 2024, we reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring that every employee goes home safely at the end of the day. By enhancing safety performance, fostering a culture of vigilance, and investing in training programmes, we continued to make strides towards our goal of zero major incidents.

Performance Overview
Total Recordable Case Frequency (TRCF):
The TRCF improved from 8.78 in 2023 to 8.55 in 2024, reflecting ongoing safety enhancements. While this is progress, we recognise the need to accelerate efforts in reducing incidents further.
The total number of incidents with injuries leading to medical treatment or lost time cases decreased marginally, with 37 incidents reported compared to 38 in 2023. These incidents accounted for 1,043 lost working days, compared to 1,119 days the year before.
Near-Miss Reporting:
We recorded 1,200 near-miss reports in 2024, demonstrating active engagement, but falling short of our ambitious target. In 2025, we will take concrete steps to further encourage near-miss reporting by enhancing communication, simplifying the reporting process, and reinforcing its value through targeted training sessions and leadership engagement. Additionally, we will implement a structured feedback loop, ensuring that every reported near-miss leads to visible follow-up actions, strengthening trust in the system and fostering a proactive safety culture.

Close the Loop Programme:
To address driver concerns about near-miss reporting, we restructured feedback processes. Country teams now oversee action reports, improving communication with drivers and reinforcing trust in the reporting system.
Key Safety Initiatives
Mission Planner Rollout:
Implemented across all European trucks, the new driver communication system ensures precise, action-based instructions, reducing risks and improving workflow clarity.
Looking forward to 2025, we aim to build
on this year’s progress by:
Shanghai team visiting Ningbo Linggang depot for a Safety Observation Tours.

Korean team conducting Safety Observation Tours at depots and trucking companies.

Safety Observation Tour in Indonesia reinforcing strong partnership and growth plans.
